Italy captain Gianluigi Buffon says he's enjoying sitting atop the Serie A table again and puts Juventus's improved showing this season down to a better work ethic.
Juve had almost become the laughing stock of Italy over the last couple of years. The biggest, most successful and best supported club in the country, they stumbled to two seventh-placed finishes in a row and even missed out on European qualification this season.
However, under former midfielder Antonio Conte they have turned a corner, are unbeaten in 18 matches in this campaign and a point clear of champions AC Milan.
The good times are back again according to Buffon. "It's a novelty now [to be top] but until a few years ago we were used to this situation and it's nice to be back there," he told the club's in-house TV channel. We're succeeding thanks to the desire to amaze, to sweat and to take revenge.
"The defence is travelling well, that's true, but that's thanks to the hard work the whole team is doing with our pressing, our filter, which means that when the ball gets through to me it's not clean and it's easy to deal with."
