Seedorf signs for another season

Clarence Seedorf has signed a new contract with AC Milan which will see the veteran remain with the Italian champions until the end of the 2011/12 season.

The Dutch midfielder's contract was due to expire this summer but he has now been kept on for one more year.

A statement from Milan read: "AC Milan announce that Clarence Seedorf has extended his contract until 30 June 2012."

Seedorf has been with Milan since 2002 and has made more than 200 appearances for I Rossoneri.

He scored four goals in 30 Serie A appearances this season to help Milan win their first Scudetto since 2004.

The 35-year-old is the latest player to have had his contract with Milan extended, as captain Massimo Ambrosini, Thiago Silva, Mark van Bommel, Flavio Roma, Alessandro Nesta and Filippo Inzaghi all signed new deals this month.
