Parma announced today that they have hired Franco Colomba as their new coach until the end of the season. He replaces Pasquale Marino who was sacked following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at home to rock-bottom Bari.
Colomba coached Bologna for most of last season but was dismissed just two days before the start of this year's Serie A campaign. The 56-year-old has led a nomadic coaching life most notably taking the reigns at Napoli and Cagliari as well as many clubs in the lower divisions. This is the 13th club he has coached since 1993 while he has also had three spells at Reggina.
Marino had only been hired in the off season but with Parma just two points above the relegation zone the club acted. They have not won since 22 January and have lost their last three.
