Napoli eased into the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia after a comfortable 2-1 victory at home to Bologna on Tuesday.
Goals from Hassan Yebda and Ezequiel Lavezzi put the Neapolitans in control before the break before Riccardo Meggiorini's second-half spot-kick threatened to make things interesting.
Napoli were fully deserving of their lead as Yebda headed home a Lavezzi corner. The scorer then doubled the advantage after a brilliant dummy left a defender on the ground before he quickly toe-poked high into the net.
Bologna were gifted a route back into the game when Emilson Cribari was adjudged to have brought down Meggiorini in the box. Cribari was booked for the challenge while the Bologna forward stroked home the spot-kick.
However, Napoli continued to dominate and closed out the game without undue distress. Three more quarter-final places are up for grabs over the next two days.
