PAOK today announced that the 33-year-old is set to undergo a medical and will then put pen to paper, without mentioning the duration of the deal.
Rat has played 97 matches for the Romanian national team since 2002, scoring two goals.
He played for English Premier League side West Ham United last season, before heading to Spanish club Rayo Vallecano in January until the end of the campaign.
