Bundesliga strugglers Stuttgart have sacked coach Bruno Labbadia, the club announced on Monday.
The 47-year-old Labbadia, who had been in charge since December, 2010, was sent packing after a third straight league loss at the weekend left Stuttgart joint bottom of the table. The club also lost their UEFA Europa League qualifying round first leg match to Rijeka of Croatia in midweek.
Assistant coach Eddy Sozer is also to leave and no decision has yet been taken on who would take over as head coach.
Labbadia, a striker in his playing days, led Die Roten to a sixth place finish in his first full season in charge. The side slumped to twelfth at the end of the 2012/13 campaign, despite a good run to the German Cup final where they lost to treble winners Bayern Munich.
