Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Thursday he believes new signing Mario Gotze is set to become a global star.
Gotze, who controversially signed from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund in the close season in a €37m deal, has not even played a league match yet but has already impressed his new employers.
"He will achieve that (global) level at Bayern," Rummenigge said. "He will bring us that little piece of quality that will guide us to ultimate success."
Gotze has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in April, although he was an unused substitute against Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
"I need to play to regain my top form," Gotze said, ahead of Bayern's weekend home match against Nuremburg.
