Australian Mitchell Langerak must wait to find out if he will be needed again to play in goal for Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund at home to Cologne on Friday. The 22-year-old earned plenty of praise for an impressive performance on his Dortmund debut last Saturday in the 3-1 victory at defending champions Bayern Munich.

The former Melbourne Victory goalkeeper produced a string of fine saves to deny Bayern having stepped in after Dortmund captain Roman Weidenfeller injured a knee in training last week. But with 30-year-old Weidenfeller recovering slowly, it is unsure who will be in goal for Friday's game in Dortmund against strugglers Cologne.

"We know that in Mitch Langerak, we can put a good man in goal," said coach Juergen Klopp. Klopp has said Weidenfeller is his first choice goalkeeper, but a decision on who will face Cologne is expected to be made on Thursday.
