Hertha Berlin's Ukrainian international striker Andrei Voronin has been banned for three Bundesliga games by the German FA on Wednesday after being sent off last weekend.
The 29-year-old, who is on loan from Premier League giants Liverpool, became the 1,000th player to be sent off in Bundesliga history for a foul on Hanover's Leon Andreasen in Berlin's 2-0 defeat last Saturday.
The Ukrainian striker, who was loaned to Hertha by Liverpool for a year last June, will also have to pay a 10,000 euros fine.
Voronin's ban is a blow to the club having scored 11 goals in 23 league games for them this season.
Hertha are fourth in the league table and are four points behind leaders Wolfsburg.
