Players in Germany's first and second divisions will wear black armbands this weekend as a mark of respect for the 16 victims shot dead in the German town of Winnenden yesterday.
"We are deeply concerned. The events are a national tragedy," said German Football League (DFL) chairman Christian Seifert.
"As a mark of our sympathy, players will wear black armbands this weekend."
The whole country is in mourning after 17-year-old Tim Kretschmer shot dead nine pupils and three teachers at a school in Winnenden before killing three other people in the south-west German town.
