Paris Saint-Germain will have to wait to clinch a second successive French Ligue 1 title after being held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Sochaux. Victory at the Stade Auguste Bonal would have been enough for PSG, who are eight points clear of second-placed Monaco with three games remaining.
The visitors took the lead through Edinson Cavani's 24th-minute goal but they were pegged back 11 minutes after the break by an own goal from Thiago Silva. The point was a welcome boost for Sochaux, who remain four points from safety in 18th place.
Lille all but secured third place with a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux. Salomon Kalou opened the scoring for the hosts in the 23rd minute and Ryan Mendes made it two with 22 minutes left to play. Bordeaux quickly pulled one back, Jussie netting from the penalty spot, but Lille saw out the victory to put seven points between themselves and St Etienne in fourth with three games remaining.
Fifth-placed Lyon closed the gap on St Etienne back to two points and extended their lead over Marseille to five points with a convincing 4-1 win at home to Bastia.
Goals from Bafetimbi Gomis, Nabil Fekir, Bakary Kone and Alexandre Lacazette ensured a successful afternoon for Les Gones, who made it two Ligue 1 wins on the bounce at the Stade Gerland following their 1-0 defeat of Paris St Germain. Francois Modesto's goal early in the second half briefly brought Bastia back to 2-1, but their opponents were too strong.
