Saint-Etienne continued their summer signings with the arrival of defensive midfielder Fabien Lemoine on a four-year deal, the club announced today.
The 24-year-old made his debut for Rennes in 2008 but was out of action for five months last season when a bad collision during a match against Nancy led to him having a kidney removed.
No fee has been reported for Lemoine who is not eligible for this weekend's match against Nancy because he is still serving a suspension.
Lemoine is the seventh new arrival this summer at Saint-Etienne who are looking for their first French championship title since 1981. They began their campaign with victory over Bordeaux last weekend.
