Lyon lose Gomis to injury

Striker Bafetimbi Gomis will miss Lyon's crucial final two matches of the season as they battle it out for the final UEFA Champions League qualifying place.

The 25-year-old, scorer of ten goals in the league this term, suffered a ligament injury to his right knee towards the end of Monday's 1-1 draw at Brest and is expected to be out for up to two months.

Lyon have a two-point lead over Paris Saint-Germain, though PSG can go a point in front, with two matches remaining, if they beat Bordeaux in their game in hand tomorrow.

Lyon currently occupy third place in the Ligue 1, which will yield a place in the qualifying round of next season's Champions League.
