Lens, Lille games called off

The French first division game between Lens and Caen has been postponed because of freezing temperatures in northern France, the host club confirmed on today.

The match had initially been scheduled for last night but was pushed back until Sunday afternoon because of bad weather with heavy snowfall early in the day forcing club officials to finally postpone the game again to an unspecified date.

Lille's home match against Nancy has suffered a similar fate due to heavy snow. The match, scheduled for this evening, will be rearranged for a later date, the Ligue de Football Professional announced.
