Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed central defender Roger Johnson in a £7million deal from Birmingham City, who were relegated from the top flight last season.
Johnson, who has signed a four-year contract, becomes Wolves' third signing of the summer after midfielder Jamie O'Hara from Tottenham Hotspur and goalkeeper Dorus de Vries from Swansea City.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has been a long-time admirer of Johnson and has been tracking him since the end of last season.
Johnson had also made it clear he wanted to remain in the top flight after the Blues were relegated at the end of last season. He moved from Cardiff City to St. Andrew's during the summer of 2009 for £5million.
