Everton's Dinyar Bilyaletdinov will miss the final Premier League match of this season after the club's appeal against his red card at West Bromwich Albion last weekend was dismissed.

The 26-year-old Russian midfielder, also ruled out of the first two league matches of next season, was shown a straight red card for what referee Anthony Taylor deemed a high challenge on Baggies midfielder James Morrison after 77 minutes at the Hawthorns.

The appeal was dismissed in spite of Morrison providing a statement in support of the Everton player.

His dismissal, which came just five minutes after he had come on as a substitute, angered Everton manager David Moyes in a match his side lost 1-0.

A statement on Everton's website said: "The Blues were informed on Tuesday afternoon that referee Anthony Taylor's decision would be upheld, thus ruling Bilyaletdinov out of Sunday's Premier League finale against Chelsea, as well as the first two games of next season.
