Schalke's out-of-favour USA international midfielder Jermaine Jones has joined Premier League side Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season, it was confirmed today.
The 29-year-old is already in England and the deal is expected to be finalised tomorrow.
"We have already agreed with the club [Blackburn] and if everthing is okay between them and Jermaine, the transfer will be finalised on Monday," said Schalke coach Felix Magath.
Jones opted to play for the United States in 2009, but fell out of favour with Magath after the Royal Blues were routed 5-0 by Kaiserslautern last November and was banished to the reserves.
Jones, who is under contract at Schalke until 2014, won three caps with Germany before switching to play for the United States, for whom he played twice last year.
