Cruzeiro go clear as Flu, Internacional stumble

Cruzeiro moved to the Campeonato Brasileirao summit with a 3-0 win over Flamengo on Sunday night.

All the goals came in the first half, Ricardo Goulart and Everton Ribeiro striking within two minutes of each other before Humberlito Borges scored the third on the stroke of half-time.

Cruzeiro lead by three points from a group of four teams on 16, with the table still to resolve itself just nine games in.

Two of those teams, Fluminense and Internacional, shared a 1-1 draw as Jean earned the Flu a point after Jorge Henrique's opener.

Corinthians were also held despite Jadson giving them a first-half lead against Botofogo, who snatched a 1-1 scoreline thanks to Edilson's late goal.

Douglas Coutinho hit a hat-trick, including goals in the last minute of each half, as Atletico Paranaense won 3-1 at Figueirense. The hosts' goal came from Everaldo.

Santos, beginning to rebuild their season after a dreadful start, beat Criciuma 2-0with goals in the first 20 minutes from Gabriel Barbosa and Diego Cardoso for their third win of the campaign.

Abuda and Alemao earned Chapecoense a 2-1 win over Bahia, whose consolation goal came from Demerson, while Gremio and Palmeiras drew 0-0.
