French football giants Bordeaux are preparing to loan out their Argentina international striker Fernando Cavenaghi to Internacional Porto Alegre, the Brazilian side revealed on today.
"Everything is in place with the player and with Bordeaux, the only thing missing is a signature," said Internacional director Roberto Siegmann.
He added that the club's assistant coach Beto Ferreira would be arriving in Europe on Tuesday to confirm Cavenaghi's fitness before finalising the deal which comes with a €2.5m option to make the move permanent.
Cavenaghi scored 33 goals in 83 matches for Bordeaux - starring for them in their title-winning season in the 2008/09 season - after joining from Spartak Moscow in 2007.
Since the start of the season the 27-year-old - capped four times - has been loaned out to Spainsh first division club Real Mallorca.
