Australia's Melbourne Victory has signed one of the A-League's most prolific strikers, Besart Berisha, for the start of next season, the club said on Wednesday.

The signing of the Albanian, who has scored 41 goals in his 65 appearances for Brisbane Roar, will move to Melbourne at the end of his current contract with the league leaders.

"Besart has been performing at the highest level week-in, week-out for Brisbane and has caused plenty of headaches for opposition defenders and coaches, including myself," said Victory coach Kevin Muscat.

"He's a proven goal-scorer and a player that we can't wait to welcome to Melbourne Victory."

Berisha joined Brisbane ahead of its 2011/12 A-League campaign and scored 21 goals to help win the championship in his debut year.

The 28-year-old will complete this season with Brisbane before moving to Victory in July to fill the club's international marquee spot for the next two seasons.
