Velez win again, Banfield beaten

Velez Sarsfield made it two wins from two in the Argentinian Apertura as they beat Arsenal Sarandi 2-1. Lucas Pratto opened the scoring after six minutes and an Ivan Marcone own-goal doubled the lead after the break before Emilio Zelaya grabbed a consolation at the death.

Goalkeeper Gaspar Servio scored an own-goal with just six minutes to play as Banfield went down to a 3-2 home defeat to Defensa y Justicia. Emiliano Tellechea opened the scoring for the visitors but a penalty from Santiago Salcedo Gonzalez six minutes after the break evened things up before Brian Fernandez had Defensa y Justicia on top again. Enzo Trinidad grabbed a second equaliser for Banfield but just four minutes later Servio put through his own net to settle it.

All the goals came from the penalty spot as Olimpo beat Tigre 2-1 in an ill-tempered encounter. Jonathan Blanco found the back of the net from 12 yards in the 11th and 20th minutes to put Olimpo two up before Carlos Luna grabbed a consolation.

In the day's other game, Ernesto Goni scored the only goal six minutes before the break as Estudiantes beat Independiente 1-0.
