Matias Perez Garcia struck an 82nd-minute winner to earn Tigre a 2-1 home victory over nine-man Belgrano Cordoba on Monday, a result that sees the Buenos Aires side leap-frog their opponents in the Clausura standings.

The teams were locked 1-1 at half-time after Belgrano winger Cesar Pereyra had quickly cancelled out Kevin Itabel's 25th-minute opener, but Tigre were given a big boost five minutes into the second half when the visitors lost Juan Quiroga to a red card.

It took Tigre a while to make the most of their numerical advantage but Perez Garcia restored their lead with eight minutes to go and there was no way back for Belgrano, who also had Guillermo Farre dismissed late on.

The result leaves Tigre in 14th spot on 20 points, one place and two points above Belgrano.
