Godoy Cruz climbed to second in the Argentinian Clausura standings on Sunday with a 1-0 triumph at Estudiantes.

Facundo Castillon netted the game's only goal 10 minutes from time to lift the victors back to within two points of leaders Gimnasia La Plata, who won 2-0 at Argentinos Juniors on Saturday.

Godoy's success meant they leapfrogged River Plate, Colon Santa Fe and Estu.

River slipped to third after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Olimpo. Carlos Carbonero put the visitors ahead after 16 minutes, but they were pegged back by a Pablo Luguercio equaliser a minute before half-time.

Arsenal Sarandi remained second from bottom after going down 4-2 at Boca Juniors.

Cristian Erbes gave the hosts the perfect start with a first-minute goal and, although Mariano Echeverria equalised 16 minutes later, a Juan Riquelme penalty on the stroke of half-time and further goals after the break from Nicolas Colazo and Emanuel Gigliotti - also from the spot - put them back in control before Julio Furch's last-gasp consolation.

Santiago Silva's strike just after the hour mark was enough to earn Lanus a 1-0 success against All Boys, lifting the winners up to sixth.
