Gimnasia La Plata went three points clear at the top of the Argentinian Clausura following a comfortable 2-0 win at ten-man Argentinos Juniors.

The visitors made an ideal start thanks to Maximiliano Meza's third-minute strike, while Facundo Pereyra struck after 50 minutes to help La Plata to some breathing room over River Plate, who have a game in hand. The struggling home side's woes were compounded by second-half substitute Reinaldo Lenis' red card four minutes from time.

Colon Sante Fe fell three points behind the league leaders after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Atletico Rafaela. It could have been worse for Colon, who fell behind to Rafaela's 52nd-minute opener, but the visitors hit back ten minutes later through Gabriel Graciani to at least earn a point.

Mauro Zarate scored twice as Velez Sarsfield moved above ten-man Rosario Central with a 4-1 win. Zarate opened the scoring in the first minute with a stunning bicycle kick and then struck again midway through the first half after Rosario midfielder Hernan Encina had been dismissed.

The hosts went further ahead when Leonardo Rolon struck in the 71st minute, while his replacement Jairo Velez put the seal on an impressive win three minutes from time, with Antonio Medina scoring a late consolation for Rosario.

Gonzalo Rios scored a 78th minute winner as Quilmes held on for a 1-0 win at Racing Club despite having Joel Carli sent off in the closing stages, while San Lorenzo were held to a goalless draw at Belgrano Cordoba.
