World champions Spain will play El Salvador on 7 June just outside Washington D.C. in their final match before they begin their FIFA World Cup™ campaign, the Spanish Football Federation announced on Friday. The match is being billed as part of a double-header, with Major League Soccer side D.C. United hosting Columbus Crew in the second game of the day.
Vicente del Bosque's men will travel to the American capital on 2 June after playing Bolivia in Seville on 30 May. The match will take place in the Washington Redskins' FedEx Field Stadium at 16.00 local time in Landover, Maryland.
Following the clash against the side ranked 78th in the world, Spain will travel to their World Cup base in Curitiba ahead of their opening match against the Netherlands in Salvador on 13 June.
