Lanus see off Santos, Nacional beat Mineiro

Argentinian side Lanus beat Santos Laguna 2-0 on Wednesday to complete a 4-1 aggregate win that confirmed their place in the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.

Santos defender Jose Abella's mistake allowed Ismael Blanco to beat goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez in the 28th minute and Paolo Goltz's second-half penalty doubled Lanus' second-leg lead. Santos ended the game with ten men after Andres Renteria saw red 16 minutes from time. Lanus will next face Bolivar at the Estadio Hernandro Siles - a stadium located around 3,200 metres above sea level in La Paz.

Sherman Cardenas' last-gasp goal earned Colombians Atletico Nacional a 1-0 victory over reigning champions Atletico Mineiro while San Lorenzo beat Gremio by the same scoreline thanks to Angel Correa's strike. Elsewhere, Nacional of Paraguay saw off Velez Sarsfield 1-0 with Julian Benitez scoring the only goal of the game at the death.
