How do I sign up?
You can register online exclusively at www.fifa.com/deutschland2011. On the right-hand side you can find the "apply now" butten which opens the application form. Applications are possible until February 2011.

How old do I have to be to apply as a volunteer?
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on of before 1 June 2011. Therefore, volunteers at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 must have been born before 1 June 1993.

Are there any minimum requirements?
Yes, there are minimum requirements for volunteers at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. As a volunteer you must be 18 years of age before the tournament begins and possess good German language skills, as well as a basic knowledge of English.

Should I have any previous experience?
No previous experience is required. Of course we would be delighted to hear from people who have already worked as a volunteer and wish to further their skills.

What are the functional areas?
There are 12 different functional areas which volunteers may be asked to serve in by the Organising Committee. A precise list and descriptions can be found under the 'Functional Areas' heading.

How does the selection process work?
The application process begins on 29 October 2009 and runs until February 2010. Short-listed applicants will then have to go through an interview process where a final selection will be made.

Are early applications given preference?
No, the timing of your application has no influence over your chances of being selected as a volunteer. Applicants who helped us with the organisation of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2010 will of course have a slight advantage in the selection process for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011.

When will I know if I have been selected as a volunteer?
The recruitment process for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 will finish in April 2011. You will be informed before then as to whether your application has been successful.

Will volunteers receive insurance cover?
Yes, all volunteers will be insured for the duration of their service, as well as during travel to and from the tournament.

Will the work be paid?
No, there is no payment for working as a volunteer. As a gesture of appreciation and recognition from the Organising Committee, you will receive the following non-cash benefits:

- Volunteer's uniform
- Food and refreshments on days of service
- Free travel on public transport on days of service
- Volunteer certificate
- Participation in volunteer events

The biggest reward of all will of course be the varied, unique experiences and new friendships which are guaranteed as part of the Volunteer Programme.

Will I receive a certificate for my work as a volunteer?
Yes, all volunteers will receive a certificate at the end of the tournament.

Will accommodation be provided for volunteers?
No, unfortunately accommodation cannot be provided. Previous tournaments have shown that volunteers often find accommodation with friends, relatives or other volunteers.

Do I have to be available to work throughout the entire tournament?
No, to work as a volunteers you need only be available on matchdays in the corresponding host city. Of course some functional areas require more availability than others. However, we would be delighted if you could simply help us as much as possible.
