Japan and Korea DPR shored up semi-finals berths at the 2010 AFC Women’s Asian Cup with victories over group rivals Thailand and Myanmar respectively on Saturday.

A much changed Japan line-up from their 8-0 opening day win over Myanmar scored three first-half goals through Megumi Takase, Manami Nakano and Rumi Utsugi. Striker Kozue Ando added a superb fourth just after the break as Japan ensured qualification from Group A with a game to spare and a healthy goal difference in comparison to Korea DPR.

Despite dominating much of the game, Korea DPR could only manage a goal in each half thanks in part to some solid goalkeeping from May Khin Ya Min. Yun Song-Mi's early strike was finally added to with Jo Yun-Mi grabbing the team’s second goal with six minutes remaining. Japan and Korea DPR will do battle in the final group match with the winner to claim top spot in the group.
