The FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ is still over a year away, with both the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014 to be played this summer before Canada 2015 Qualifiers wrap up in November.

With this Friday's Canada 2015 qualifying match in Turkey, however, the competition is now one year old, marking exactly 365 days since the first official matches were played on 4 April 2013 in Malta and Lithuania.

Already three of six confederations have started qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, with the global 20-month schedule to run from April 2013 through November 2014.

As host, Canada is the first country to have secured one of 24 spots for the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015, which will be played from coast to coast across Canada from 6 June to 5 July next year. The other 23 spots are still up for grabs.

Asia will be the first confederation to qualify nations in May, with the final round of its Canada 2015 Qualifiers to book five countries from a final eight-nation AFC Women's Asian Cup in Vietnam.

In the first year of FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015 Qualifiers (before Friday), 76 different national teams have contested 129 matches played in 58 different countries. Of those 76 participating nations, ten of them were making their debut in the FIFA Women's World Cup preliminary competition.

The FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015 will be played in six official host cities next summer: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montréal and Moncton.
