The 40,000 crowd set to pack the Frankfurt World Cup Arena for Wednesday's clash between Germany and Brazil will include a host of celebrities, revelling in their shared passion for the women’s game.

The well-known faces among what will be the largest crowd ever for a women’s international in Europe include Federal Interior Minister Wolfgang Schauble, Mayor of Frankfurt Petra Roth, German FA (DFB) President Dr. Theo Zwanziger, Germany coach Joachim Low, Chairman of the FIFA Committee for Women's Football and the FIFA Women's World Cup Worawi Makudi, Chairman of the OC Board of Trustees Dr. Thomas Bach, adidas CEO Herbert Hainer, and former players Franz Beckenbauer and Gunter Netzer. Female rock star DORO is also thrilled by the prospect of the match-up between two of the world’s best teams.

I love football. When I was a kid, my dad always took me along to watch Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Rheinstadion. I also reckon women’s football is getting more and more attractive too.

"The Germany-Brazil friendly in Frankfurt is definitely whetting my appetite for the World Cup in 2011. I think 2011 will be another fairytale summer in Germany, just like the men's World Cup in 2006. In fact, the supporting programme may be even more colourful and varied. I’m planning to go to as many games as I can," DORO enthused.

"I love football. When I was a kid, my dad always took me along to watch Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Rheinstadion. I also reckon women’s football is getting more and more attractive. The German girls don’t just look good, they’re really good on the ball too," DORO continued.

On Wednesday, the Commerzbank Arena site opens to the public at 15.30, almost three hours before kick-off. An attractive events and entertainment programme entitled 'DFB hautnah' (DFB close up) with some 25 join-in-and-play modules will help pass the time, before the re-match of the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup Final kicks off at 18.15.
