The AFC U-19 Championship took place in Zibo City, China PR, from 3 to 17 October 2010. The four semi-finalists, Korea Republic, Korea DPR, Australia and Saudi Arabia qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011.
The 17th CAF African Youth Championship serves as the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011. The competition is taking place in South Africa between 17 April and 2 May. Mali and Cameroon became the first teams to qualify and will be followed to Colombia by Egypt and Nigeria.
The 2010 European U-19 Championship served as the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011. The final round was played in France between 18-30 July and France, England, Austria, Spain, Croatia and Portugal qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011 as the three best-ranked teams of the two groups.
The qualifying tournament will take place between 28 March and 10 April 2011 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. It will be a 12-team tournament, the preliminary round of which will involve four three-team groups to determine who advances to the quarter-finals. The four semi-finalists will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Guatemala were the four teams to qualify for the semi-finals and reach Colombia 2011.
The qualifiers were held in Auckland, New Zealand from 20 to 29 April 2011. American Samoa, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tuvalu and Vanuatu all competed in the competition. New Zealand were the eventual winners over Solomon Islands and qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011.
The qualifying tournament will take place from 16 January to 12 February 2011 in Peru. Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Uruguay secured the four qualification places on offer.
