Aksa Jenerator will be the official energy sponsor for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013 which takes place between 21 June and 13 July.

Aksa Jenerator has agreed to provide energy needs to the seven stadiums being used to host the tournament. The sponsorship agreement was officially unveiled in a signing ceremony staged at the Besiktas Ciragan Hotel Kempinski. The event was attended by Turkish Football Federation Vice President Ufuk Ozerten and Aksa Jenerator's President Necati Baykal.

Speaking at the ceremony Ozerten specified three major factors required to make Turkey 2013 a success.

Ozerten said, "We need energy, power and support. Aksa Jenerator will supply us with the energy requirements needed to stage the FIFA U-20 World Cup. We thank them for this. Their support will aid the success of the tournament in two ways.

"Firstly the matches will be broadcast live to over 190 countries around the world. 500 million football lovers will watch the games on their TVs. The tournament is an important opportunity to showcase Turkey to the world. There cannot be interruptions in the broadcast during the matches. Secondly Turkey's chances of winning the 2020 Olympic bid rests heavily on our ability to host the U-20 World Cup successfully.

"As for strength, we need the support of our public. The stadiums need to be filled to their capacity. Our U-20 national team will play their group stage games in Trabzon and Rize. I hope the U-20 World Cup trophy which arrived in Turkey for the tournament, remains here after the competition has concluded. Finally we need support of the media and public to help promote the tournament. The world's heart will beat with Turkey this summer."

Aksa Jenerator President Baykal also spoke at the ceremony and said, "After our initial meeting with FIFA in April, Aksa Jenerator has made preparations for the stadiums’ energy requirements. The tournament will require 25,000 kilowatts of energy, and we have carried out the necessary tests and the stadiums are now ready for use. The independent energy source we will supply has a value of five million USD.”
