Major Turkish food products manufacturer Ülker, along with Turkey’s leading healthcare provider Acibadem, this week became the latest high-profile companies to join the National Supporters roster for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013.
Ülker and Acibadem, who join fellow National Supporters Halkbank in committing support to the tournament, were warmly welcomed by FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke who highlighted the vital role such support will play in the success of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013.
“I’m delighted to welcome two such well-known Turkish companies as National Supporters for this summer’s FIFA U-20 World Cup,” he said. “The support of Acibadem and Ülker will play an important role in the promotion of this exciting event. We’re looking forward to working closely together with both companies in the months to come.”
Ülker, part of the globally recognised Yıldız Holdings, is the leading food and beverage brand in Turkey, as well as a household name in around 80 countries.
Yıldız Holding Board of Directors Vice Chairman Ali Ülker explained that the company sees its backing of the FIFA U-20 World Cup as part of a wider effort aimed at bringing sport to as many people in Turkey as possible.
He said: “We are very proud to become a supporter of such an important FIFA event, and one that Turkey will be hosting for the first time. Being a brand that has been supporting sports activities in Turkey for so many years, we believe Turkey should be a country of sports and the spirit of sports should spread to a wider audience.”
With 16 full-service general hospitals, 11 outpatient clinics, a team of 2,200 physicians, 3,500 nurses and 6,500 support staff, Acibadem has been a valued private healthcare service provider in Turkey since 1991 and, as revealed by the company’s CEO and Chairman Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, they will play a vital role in the area of medical support during the tournament.
He said: “Acibadem Healthcare Group is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013. With our 22 years of experience, we will be organising the healthcare services during the tournament, which will be played in different cities.”
The FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013 kicks-off on 21 June.
