Helio Sousa, Portugal coach:
We knew we were going to have problems because we were taking on a team with a lot of qualities, not just in technical terms but also in the way they set themselves out on the pitch. We were aware that we had to be strong all the time. Today we knew what to do when we had the ball and also when we didn't, which is also important.

Carlos Restrepo, Colombia coach:
I feel that it's a shame that it was a mistake that put us behind on the scoresheet too quickly. It was a very hard emotional blow, given the high hopes we'd had for this game. And from that point on we needed to work the game through, but being a goal down already... In the second half we decided to take more risks, we introduced an attacking player for a defensive one, but then we made another mistake that led to a goal. It turned out to be very difficult to get our heads back up after that.
