Rogerio Micale, Brazil coach
For us, we have a concept of football that involves us playing an offensive game, looking to score every time we have the ball. And of course we had some difficulty today. But this is at least the kind of football we are trying to play. In the final stages of the first half, all of the second half and all of the extra time, Brazil had control of the game. And we had so many shots on the goal. It would have been very bad for the sport of football if we had been eliminated today because we were the team really trying to score, whereas Uruguay were trying to defend all the time. Thank God justice was done.
Fabian Coito, Uruguay coach
Nothing went wrong in respect of our performance today. After the match, I just told my players congratulations on their efforts. Sometimes as players you have problems that you cannot fix. But my boys gave everything they could.
