New Zealand have qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup after beating Papua New Guinea 3-0 in the final match of the OFC U-20 Women's Championship in Auckland.

The two teams went into the final match with a perfect record following respective wins against Vanuatu and Tonga, leaving the contest a winner-takes-all scenario.

Despite claiming the win New Zealand were pushed all the way by a gallant Papua New Guinea side with the result in the balance until the final minutes.

New Zealand held a slim lead thanks to an early goal from Belinda Van Noorden, but it took two goals in the final ten minutes to seal the result and ensure their passage to Canada 2014.

New Zealand will now feature in their fifth consecutive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
