The Estadio Nelson Oyarzun in Chillan has undergone extensive renovations in order to host the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Chile 2008. Its facilities were completely demolished while even the direction of the pitch has been altered.

The new facility now has 12,000 seats, coloured red to honour the jerseys worn by local side Nublense, while the stadium is named after one of the club's finest ever coaches.

The new construction is a modern four-floored edifice divided into areas for services, media, sport and VIPs and complete with centralised access. The southern facade, which is completely under cover, houses parking for the authorities, competitors and officials.
