The Estadio German Becker in Temuco was inaugurated on 13 August 1965. It is considered to be one of Chile's finest sporting arenas, thanks in part to its privileged location beside a large municipal park. The venue is the home ground of Chilean league side Deportivo Temuco.

The stadium, which will be one of the main host venues for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Chile 2008, has undergone a number of modifications, which will be be unveiled at the showpiece event.

The changes include installing 18,125 individual seats, completing the roof over the stands and removing the athletics track to enhance spectators' enjoyment of the on-the-pitch action. The VIP stand has four storeys and independent access, while giant screens are also installed.
