Honduras are the first CONCACAF nation to secure their position at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 after topping Group A qualifying on home turf in San Pedro Sula on Wednesday.
The home side wrapped up top spot thanks to a 2-1 win over Guatemala achieved with a first-half minute win from Darixon Vuelto.
Honduras have qualified for three previous U-17 World Cups (2007, 2009, 2013).
Honduras will now meet the Group B winner in Sunday’s final. Mexico, Costa Rica and Canada are all in the mix to top Group B on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Jamaica defeated USA 1-0 with both advancing to single-game four-team play-offs which will decide the Confederation’s last two representatives at Chile 2015.
