X Factor stars, Morocco’s Mohammed Al Rifi and Libya’s Ibrahim Abdelazim, joined forces last week in the Emirates to wish all the FIFA U-17 World Cup teams the best of luck as kick off approaches. The singers, who were in the UAE for Dubai Music Week, are both football fans and can’t wait to see the action kick off here in the Emirates.
The highly anticipated football festival commences on October 17, and the 24 qualified teams will be arriving in the tournament’s six host cities over the coming days. The Local Organizing Committee’s Tournament Director, HE Mohammed bin Bdoua, said: “It is great to see young music stars from across the Middle East support the FIFA U-17 World Cup and celebrate with us in spirit. At this stage teams need all the support they can get from football fans, friends and family to boost their confidence on the pitch. I am sure fans don’t need a formal invitation to come down to the tournament; everyone is welcome at the FIFA U-17 World Cup!”
Celebrations in the UAE for the FIFA U-17 World Cup are in motion with the Winner’s Trophy Tour making its final stop in Dubai this weekend. Over the next four days, organisers will give fans in the city the chance to win fabulous prizes, to see the trophy up close and to buy tickets for the largest football tournament to ever be staged in the Emirates. The tour is scheduled to visit The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), from October 10-12, followed by Dubai Mall from on October 14 and 15.
Tickets are also available to purchase at Hallmark stores – Marina Mall (Abu Dhabi), Al Jimi Mall (Al Ain), Manar Mall (Ras Al Khaimah), City Centre Mall (Fujairah), Sahara Mall (Sharjah) and The Dubai Mall (Dubai), or online at www.fifa.com/u17worldcup
