“We expected a very hard game. We entered the pitch with our minds off, and we sadly conceded a very early goal. In the second half, we started with a better attitude. However, we wasted many chances, which we have to improve during our training sessions. There’s a long way to go, but  we must do things right if we want to keep our chances of staying in the competition," Molefi Ntseki, South Africa coach.

“We are happy for the victory, since with this result, our players managed to overcome the pressure and nerves from the first game, and we managed to make good use of the chances we generated for ourselves in the final third. In spite of the victory, there’s still lots of things to improve, such as precision and possession, besides the mistakes made by the nervousness of our players. We want to overcome this group phase and keep going through stages. We want to compete, but we don’t want to overlook our players' growth during their teenage years," Marcelo Herrera, Costa Rica coach.
