An injury-time winner from substitute Oh Sehun has given Korea Republic an eleventh hour win over Guinea and progress to the Round of 16 from FIFA U-17 World Cup Group B after two wins out of two. A relatively low key affair seemed destined for a goalless stalemate in La Serena until Sehun crashed the ball into the net in the 92nd minute after being teed up by You Juan.

Guinea displayed plenty of energy in the opening stages and enjoyed the better sights of goal, though there was little difference in the possession stakes. Korea Republic defender Park Myeongsu tried to break the deadlock, only for his powerful shot to narrowly miss the target.

However, the best chance of the opening half fell to Guinea as Naby Bangoura’s snapshot was blocked by Ahn Joonsoo and Sam Diallo was inches away from following up.

The second half was a more balanced and less energised affair although Guinea had two early sights of goal via Yamadou Toure with a big chance, and then Alseny Soumaha a few moments later.

Korea were denied just past the hour mark only by a brilliant double block from Moussa Camara who firstly denied Lee Seungwoo, and then Park Sanghyeok on the follow up.

The win leaves Korea Republic top of the standings and through to the knockout stages following their opening 1-0 defeat of Brazil, while Guinea have just one point after their 1-1 draw against England.
