Belgium edged Honduras in a 2-1 win after the sides' played out an entertaining and balanced match in Group D at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015.

Both teams began the game rather cautiously, intent on not conceding the first goal. Belgium had the slight advantage in the first half, creating a few significant chances.

Eventually Les Diablotins were rewarded for their attacking endeavour when Christophe Janssen's free-kick eventually found its way to Jorn Vancamp, who struck home the opener with a calm finish inside the box after cushioning the ball with his chest.

Honduras nearly equalised three minutes later after Darixon Vuelto shot from 22 metres but Belgium goalkeeper Jens Teunckens was able to make the crucial save for his side.

Honduras came back from the break in rejuvenated form, scoring the equaliser just four minutes after the restart through Jafeth Leiva, whose pin-point accurate left-footed strike went in off the post. Los Catrachos almost took the lead minutes later when Vuelto rounded Teunckens after a superb Erick Arias through pass, but he ran out of space to turn his shot in.

That missed chance would later come back to haunt Honduras when Dante Rigo poked home the winner after Honduras failed to clear from a free-kick in the 78th minute. Belgium will play Ecuador, while Honduras will face Mali in their final Group D encounters on Saturday.
