Japan coach Hirofumi Yoshitake
“I would like to thank all the fans in the stadium for creating such a wonderful atmosphere. I must also give my congratulations to my team, who fought to the very last second of the game. They gave everything they had. I am very satisfied with the performance of my team here in Mexico. There are still lessons left to learn as you can see. We conceded three goals today and so there is still a lot of room for improvement. I hope my players learn from this game.”

Brazil coach Emerson Avila
“This was a very hard game for us. The Japanese asked a lot of questions and we had to be at our very best to answer them, especially in the second half. We had a bit of luck tonight and that made a big difference, but Japan never gave up. Our next game against Uruguay is going to be a very tough game for us, but if we want to reach the final we are going to have to find a way to win. Now is a time to recover from a hard game and tomorrow we will begin to think about Uruguay.”
