Venezuela and Paraguay qualify for Costa Rica 2014

Paraguay and Venezuela have become the first South American nations to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Costa Rica 2014.

Both qualified with a game to spare at the CONMEBOL South American U-17 Women's Championship, and did so with identical 2-1 wins: Paraguay seeing off Chile, and Venezuela edging Colombia.

These four teams are competing in the final stage of the race for three slots at Costa Rica 2014, leaving Colombia and Chile - on one and zero points respectively - to battle for the final place on Sunday.

The tournament winners will also be decided the same day. Venezuela, having beaten the Chileans in their opening fixture, currently top the standings by a two-point margin and go into their final fixture knowing needing only a draw to secure the title.
