John Griffiths, England coach
The players did everything we asked of them. It was a very good performance and I felt that we controlled the first half. I thought we were fine in the second half too, in control, until the free-kick (Korea DPR's goal to bring the score to 2-2), after which the Koreans got some momentum. But we made some changes that gave us a foothold and allowed us to finish the way we did. We're focused on qualifying from this group and I think you'll have seen that we have fast, clever forwards who will be a handful for any team.

Sin Jong-Bok, Korea DPR coach
England are a very strong team. We felt we were very close to winning the match but they did well to come back and score such a late goal. I think our players were maybe too tense in this first match of the tournament to show our full capabilities. But we will go away and prepare for the next match, hoping to show our full potential there.
