Anouschka Bernhard, Germany coach
We were expecting a difficult match and that’s what we got. It wasn’t our best performance, but we created lots of chances and scored two goals. I’m very happy with the win, the fact that we’ve qualified for the next round, and the lack of injuries. This will be the third time we’ve played Spain. We played them twice at the European U-17 Championships and we know them well. They’re a strong team with talented, quick players. I’m sure that we’ll put in a good performance against them. After finishing top of Group B, we’re going to get ready for the quarter-finals and give it our best shot.

Birwe Minkreo, Cameroon coach
Although we’ve been knocked out at the group stage, we’ve learnt a lot. We wanted to show what we can really do, but today we didn’t play as well as we did in the two previous matches. Perhaps it was because there was nothing at stake for us. We’ll head home with much more experience under our belts. I’m expecting the girls to make good progress in the future, which will be a great boost for football in Cameroon. I would sum up our time at the tournament by saying that we need to get hold of information on our opponents early on to be able to prepare tactically and technically. And you also need a winning mentality, which we were possibly lacking here.
