Sudan's Faucons registered a 3-1 win over Chad to put them back in the picture in Africa's Group 10. Ahmed Adel set Sudan on their way with a goal in the 4th minute, but Leger Djime had equalised for Chad before the break.

On neutral territory in Egypt, Sudan finally imposed themselves on the game in the second period, Faisal Agab scoring a penalty on 48 minutes before Saifeldin Ali made sure of the points a quarter of an hour before the close.

With nine points and a goal difference of +4, Mali remain the favourites to progress, especially since they play host to bottom-placed Chad (on six points) on the final matchday. Congo are level with Mali on nine points, but they face Sudan away from home in their final encounter.
