Rueda wary of Spain backlash

Honduras coach Reinaldo Rueda is expecting to feel the full force of a Spanish backlash in Johannesburg on Monday.

The Central Americans, who lost 1-0 to Chile in their first Group H game, face a Spain side looking to bounce back from a shock defeat at the hands of Switzerland and re-establish their FIFA World Cup™ credentials.

We should not be distracted by the result. As one of the favourites and having lost their first game, Spain will be even more determined.

"We should not be distracted by the result. As one of the favourites and having lost their first game, Spain will be even more determined," Rueda said. "We rate Spain as highly after that match as we did before it. This result does not change our valuation of Spain and their qualities.

"That result means they will face us with greater intensity," he added. "We cannot let ourselves be distracted by that result. We cannot think the game will be easy. On the contrary, for me it will be more difficult."
