Honduras striker Carlo Costly has sent a message of good luck to his team-mates for the FIFA World Cup™ after injury forced national coach Reinaldo Rueda to exclude him from the final 23.

Costly, who now plays his football for Romanian club Vaslui, has been sidelined by a fractured metatarsal in his right foot but has sent his best wishes to Los Catrachos, who kick off their FIFA World Cup campaign against Chile on Wednesday.

He told "I am the number one fan of the national team. A World Cup is not played every day, I wish good luck to my team-mates and the coaching staff because you should always fight for what you want.

"Being outside the group does make me wish I could be singing the anthem with them, but I will send out good vibes to them from here."
